Taylor's recording career spans five decades, with over two dozen albums of which he has been leader. He has composed over three hundred songs. Taylor may best be known to the public at large for his broadcasting activities, including a jazz series for National Educational Television and several series on National Public Radio. Billy Taylor has been involved in jazz education, and has been the recipient of awards for his teaching as well as performing.   This is the first published book of transcriptions of Billy Taylor's recorded solos.
