The purpose of the series is to help develop strong hands and flexible fingers. Each book contains five groupings of twelve exercises. Do not feel rushed to learn the first twelve right away. To get the most use out of this book, learn two or three exercises and play them each day before practicing, then add more until those are learned. Once you have mastered group one, then move on to the next group.
